My experience with this Tennessee Arms Company 80% Lower Receiver has been a journey… I wanted to pick up a 80% lower, loved the idea of not having to machine it out (like aluminum ones) and saw that Tennessee Arms Company had reinforced some key areas on their polymer lower receivers. So I picked one up.
It has been a struggle, with issues getting a lower parts kits to fit, modifying parts to get them to fit, etc. Finally, when I was about to throw in the towel I contacted them, worked through the last issue with the engineer there, and got it running. Now that it is functioning, I am pleased with it, but it was a journey…
*For frame of reference: I have had a FFL 07 (License to Manufacture Firearms) for the last 3 years, put together and shipped lots of AR-15 / M-4 type rifles and pistols all over the US. Not my first rodeo.*
If you want to check out the process of milling this out on a drill press, go here for Part : 1 and Part : 2.
*You can see my Second Attempt here, And here also, goes much smoother…*
