Back Country Shiv

The Kit Badger Field Knife

After quite some time, the Back Country Shiv is here… …or Kit Badger Field Knife, or whatever it is called.

Awhile back Chad, from CK Knife & Tool, reached out to me about making a collaboration knife. It took some time and was a pretty slow process, but it eventually led to this knife, which I am pretty stoked on.

It is what I was looking for in a all around utility knife for the back country. Something I can take backpacking and hiking, used to make fires, process wood, skin and gut game, etc. And at the same time it has elements which lend itself to EDC (Every Day Carry) to be used in a defensive role.

You can find the Back Country Shiv at CK Knife & Tool.

The production sheath will be different, but I’ve finally landed on the design I’ve been looking for…
The 90 degree spine aids in throwing sparks while using a ferro rod.
The tapered tang keeps strength while at the same time lightening the overall weight.
