Tactical Games SC 2

Tactical Games: South Carolina (2019) Part – 2

Back to the Tactical Games for Day 2 at the GTI (Government Training Institute) in South Carolina. After the 2 Battles (Events) of Day 1, we got back at it…

If you are unfamiliar with the Tactical Games, think of a crossfit competition meets 2 gun competition. Physical challenges intermixed with rifle and pistol shooting. In my case, running a prototype 5.56 Q Sugar Weasel and a Sig P320 X5.

Day 2 brought us the final 3 Battles of the games. Usually there is a total of six, but do to time, one had to get cut. The line up for the last day was a few Tactical Games staples and a wildcard.

Each Tactical Games usually has a longer running event as well as an aggregate. This had both of those, though the running event was probably the shortest to date, about 1 mile. While the aggregate is a cobbling together of physical challenges coupled with pistol shooting.

However, being at the South Carolina Tactical Games, it offered some cool opportunities to use the facility at GTI. We ran our last course through a decommissioned nuclear facility. Using SRTA (Short Range Training Ammunition) we engaged targets while navigating dark corridors. Good times.

After running through all 5 of this Tactical Games’ Battles, I finished in 4th Place out of the 22 competitors in the Elite Division. Aside from the punishing South Carolina heat, it was a amazing time out there with some good friends.
