Suicide, a uncomfortable topic for conversation. Yet we seem to have no problem talking about school shootings. Which, at its heart, is a symptom of suicide.
I’ve started this series on suicide and broken it into a couple pieces. The first part dealing with suicide and how it relates to youth. While I save the second part for PTSD within military, law enforcement and contracting.
In the last 10 years or so, 288 people have been killed in school shootings. That number in most cases includes the perpetrator, who was at the core, suicidal. In that same 10 years over 57,000 students have committed suicide. Where should we have a conversation?
You can see Part 2 here, talking about Suicide and PTSD.
