While originally made for paratroopers and fast-roping as well as operations in hot dry climates, think deserts, they do a great job just out in the mountains. They offer plenty of support without being overly rigid or heavy. Not to mention they are much cooler than most boots, especially in hot weather. I’ve put quite a few miles on these and have been very pleased with them.
