How to tune an AR Gas System

A lot of DI (Direct Impingement) AR-15 / M4 rifles are overgassed, and occasionally undergassed.  If your rifle is over / undergassed, this can create problems.  Both with respect to reliability, extra wear and tear on parts and possibly an unnecessarily strong recoil impulse.

In this video I will show you how to determine if your rifle is over or undergassed.  And if it is overgassed, I will show you some simple parts you can swap out in order to get it running the way it should.

And if you don’t want to go this route, the turnkey solution is to pick up a Adjustable Gas Block, such as the one made by Superlative Arms.

A extra power spring and / or a heavier buffer will probably do the trick for a overgassed rifle.
