How To Paint Your Pistol

In a previous video I covered How To Paint Your Rifle (M-4 / AR-15) as well as magazines.  In this we jump into painting a pistol, my newly machined Glock 17.  Think of it as a condensed Cliff’s Notes version of the Rifle Painting video.  A coat of paint adds some personality, a layer of scratch and corrosion resistance, and aids in losing said item in dense undergrowth…

Still, the best thing going paint wise, is Aervoe spray paint which you can get through DSG Arms.  This paint seems to be the flattest, most durable and have the widest array of colors.

Here is a follow up video on how the Paint Wears.

Got the base layer down, time to add colors.

  1. Ivan, any particular reason you like that brand of paint v. Krylon? I’m ready to paint teh heck out of some shit (and have a bunch of Krylon), but nervous that I’ll jack it up and completely and utterly ruin my guns forever. Thanks.

    1. I find the Aervoe paint to be really durable and incredibly flat in it’s finish. Don’t worry about messing anything up either. You can strip it off if need be, but there is no messing up. Start small with a couple magazines if you want to get your feet wet.

  2. I’ve bought the Aervoe paint online from Walmart and the price is reasonable. The colors may not be as plentiful but I got the ones I wanted.
Thanks for this simple, direct video. Your points are well-taken and sensible.
