The Nightforce ATACR 1-8 is pretty amazing. The 34mm tube lets in tons of light and the glass is incredibly clear. They did a great job with the Mil Reticle too. It is great at higher magnifications for making all your holds at distance and for wind without having to make adjustments to the capped turrets. And up close, the illumination is plenty bright to use the optic like a red dot.
While the ATACR 1-8x24mm does great at long range, as well as CQB (Close Quarters Battle) with it’s daylight bright illumination, it does fall short under night vision. In fairness though, no LPVO does good under NODs. Definitely one of the best executed low power variables.
