Some skills take a lot of work to gain any level of competency with. But, like everything, you have to start somewhere. This is my first attempt at starting an IV (Intravenous) Catheter. It is good to have buddies that don’t mind getting poked.
My big takeaways from this is a newfound respect for people that accomplish this under high stress in less than optimal conditions, and a desire to train more. And since working on starting an IV Catheter is enough of a challenge, I also will make sure my next practice session is in a nice indoor controlled environment.
