In the world of 50 yard ranges and extreme long range shooting, how about something more practical in the middle of those two? Enter the 3 Day Mid-Range Rifle Course at Thunder Ranch. Emphasis on engaging targets between 100-700 yards.
Unlike a lot of “Precision” Rifle Courses, this one was very pragmatic and ultimately rooted in Gun Fighting, as one would expect from Clint Smith. A very practical approach to learning your gun, gathering dope and ultimately building confidence in engaging targets at different distances.
While the weather didn’t cooperate by some standards, it was actually great for learning. Snow the first two days and rain on the third. Giving students opportunities to shake out guns and gear in adverse conditions and to read wind as well.
