Ace Link Armor makes a number of different levels of ballistic protection to fit your needs. One of which is their Level 4 Stand Alone Plates. If you are unfamiliar with the levels of protection, per the NIJ certification standards, Level 4 will stop .30-06 APM2 (Armor Piercing) and lesser threats. So basically if you want the most protection you can still be mobile with, this is the one.
These plates are fairly light for the protection they offer as well. Each plate weighing about 6 lbs. And they fit nicely into most carriers that accept 10″x12″ ballistic plates.
