Today I take a look at the L3 Filmless White Phos Gen3 PVS-14 in a Vyper housing from Shooting Surplus.
While they offer both a Mil-Spec and Commercial variant of this unit, I have the Mil-Spec version. Largely the same unit, but one having a higher minimum spec. The units I have, respectively, have a FOM (Figure Of Merit) of 2400 and 2600+. Overall, rally nice tubes, and when it comes to getting into the game of Night Vision, opt for the best your budget permits…
**Correction: Most Gen3 tubes are autogated, not all, the MAIN difference between Gen2 / Gen3 is the Photocathode material.**
