I’m a fan of the SureFire X-Series weapon lights. I run a SureFire X-300 on my Glock 17. The natural progression from this of course, is the SureFire DG Switch, which allows one handed operation of the pistol mounted light. But here is the rub, the switch is between $80-100 and most kydex holsters will eat it for lunch.
Holsters generally aren’t made to account for the extra material under the trigger guard. And often the holster is sharp right there. A quick fix is to file and sand your holster smooth. But ultimately through repeated drawing and holstering, your DG Switch will get worn. And once it gets cut open, it’s time to buy a new one. Soooo… …here is a pretty simple way to protect that investment.
