I met up with Brad of IAT (Innovative Ammunition Technologies) to have some gunsmith work done. I decided to SBR (Short Barrel Rifle) my CZ 527 Carbine chambered in 7.62×39. In part because it would allow me to have plain threads on the barrel. So instead of only being able to use my SureFire SOCOM 762 Mini suppressor on it, I could use pretty much any 30 caliber can, to include the Liberty Mystic X.
Brad did a great job cutting down and threading my barrel. After cutting it to 12″, he put a target crown on it as well. Now any suppressor or muzzle device can be easily swapped out. I’m looking forward to getting more time on the range with this fun little rifle.
