Here is the 8.6 Creedmoor… Basically the big brother of 300 Blackout. Starting with a 6.5 Creedmoor case, shortening it, then necking it up for a 338 projectile. What does this do for us?
It gives us the same type of benefits of a 300Blk. We have a round that can fit in a .308 Winchester magazine and is devastating in both supersonic and subsonic loads.
The 8.6 Creedmoor at 155gr @ 2500fps out of a 12.5″ barrel will outperform a .308 from a 18″ barrel to around 300 Yards. And with the subsonic loads at around 300+gr @ 1000 fps, they pack a looooot of punch.
I’m really excited for the 8.6 Creedmoor that Hornady will be brining to market, and for when Q starts offering The Fix chambered in it.
