Today I take a 1st Look at a pretty cool new project. It involves my MiniFix by Q LLC, Helix 6 Precision and Leupold Optics…
I love the MiniFix, it is a fun little gun. But I also like to do cool projects. And since they make a .224 Valkyrie Bolt for the MiniFix, why not explore that? So to that end, my friends over at Helix 6 Precision chambered a carbon fiber barrel for me in 6.8 SPC II. And since I needed a muzzle device, I threw on a Muzzle Brake by Rearden MFG.
And since I didn’t want to overly weigh down an otherwise light rifle, I topped it with a Leupold VX-5HD 3-15 with their Mil Reticle. A great second focal plane scope that incorporates some awesome features.
With the gun together, I headed out to the range, threw on a Trash Panda Silencer and proceeded to get some velocities with my Magneto Speed. Then, after establishing a zero, I started hitting steel out to 400 yards. It is a really fun rifle. I can’t wait to do some hunting this season with my son behind this gun.
