With a budget of 20 dollars I spent two or three days looking for gear to get me out into the mountains. Between a couple thrift stores and the dollar store, I pieced together the gear I needed. And all for under 20 bucks.
I got a external frame backpack, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, old Nalgene water bottle, stainless steel pot, stainless steel measuring cup, steak knife that I had to re-profile and make a cardboard sheath for, a lighter and a little LED reading light that could preform as a headlamp.
A pretty fun 2 nights out in the mountains.
